A Faith Journey Through Alzheimer’s
Everything Is Going to Be All Right: A Faith Journey Through Alzheimer’s is a deeply personal Christian memoir about love, suffering, truth, and perseverance in the face of Alzheimer’s disease.
The book tells Scott Yates’ story of walking alongside his wife, Nell, from her Alzheimer’s diagnosis through the long, painful journey of caregiving, loss, and eventual placement in a nursing home.
It is not written as a medical guide, but as a spiritual testimony—what it means to remain faithful when control, certainty, and normal life are stripped away.
A testimony of perseverance, showing how God’s presence does not remove the storm—but carries believers through it with peace, purpose, and enduring hope.

Scott and Eleanor “Nell” Yates met as veteran newspaper reporters at the Fayetteville Observer. Married in 1992, their son Lee was born in 1994. Scott founded OnPoint Communications Group in 2013 providing public relations services. Nell wrote for many university, state and national publications. Nell was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2016.

Alzheimer’s caregivers are being led closer to Jesus. Learning to trust in His love brings blessings of strength and peace when spiritual eyes are open.
